Hi,
My problem started a few months ago. I believe its hardware, but I wanted a second opinion
At first the burner started out having a lot of failed burns. Now the buffer fills up and it won't start burning in any program. The application then freezes and I have to close the process from task manager to get it to end.
I have a slim line teac burner that comes in a zd7000 notebook
Any help would be appreciated. Below is a system hardware summary.

Hi britz660
What media are you using - like Sony 16x +R.
A little older drive so if using newer 16x media it may be hit or miss.
Check the laptop manufacturers site and see if there are any firmware updates.
Check and make sure all drives show DMA in the transfer modes - here's a guide.
Even if they show ok can't hurt to go ahead and do the uninstall bit, reboot and let windows do it thing and reinstall.

DMA transfer thing was fine, uninstalled anyways
No new firmware (hacked version but ehh)
I think it does it with all media
It just sits there like that.... the cpu usage changes but thats about it.

May just be time to pick up an external burner or replace it w/ another slimline.
Try another program to burn and see how that goes.
Here's a good free one - ImgBurn.
Use the build mode to add the files that aren't an image file.

Hi ogsoound2
Not much wrong with the log except the media you're using - made by CMC - not the best and could be the reason for your error.
Switch the media to Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim or made in Japan Sony, Fuji or Maxell.
The Pioneer is a bit older and the firmware is update - at some point though I would consider replacing the drive too - so much cheaper now.

Not a problem ogsoound2
Unfortunately a dvd drives don't really last all that long - few years on average - give or take.
Keep us posted on how the new one works out!
