i have been wondering for a while what the ram limitations for the linux 2.6 kernel are. i know that windows can only address a maximum of 4 gigs and i have read that it is a 32bit problem. but i came across this and it had info about the 2.4 kernel limits.

http://www.spack.org/wiki/LinuxRamLimits

so i support for more than 4gigs any good in 32bit linux? and btw i am not planning on upgrading to 4gigs this is just a random question that has been bothering me.

Linux being built for more than limited desktop usage you will hit hardware brick walls on ram before the OS can't address it.
There are clustering versions that can address TB's of ram.
