ok i am burning with a 3 year old burner at 2x speed on SONY DVD-R media (the stuff in the stores, non Taiyo yuden ID numbers)
after inserting the games to load (usually on wii menu i wait to load/eject games), about 1/3 of the time or so, i get the unreadable disc message... then I eject and it loads the second time...

is this normal??
is my old DVD burner or sony DVD-Rs slowly ruining my Wii??

Try different media.

What program are you using to burn?

What chip are you using?

What region is your Wii and the games you are trying to play?

If so, then use different media.

just some games have to be loaded a second time...

Try changing your burn speed to 4X.
