IS ther any reason for this, anything to do with burning etc. one example is resident vil 4 USA on my PAL wii or Driver: PL PAL.its like ther isnt widescreen on the games event ho they r compatible according to the net. Thanks
If I'm understanding correctly, you have a PAL version of the Wii trying to play a US (NTSC) game. I'm assuming that your TV is also PAL-complient.
I might be off base with this, so anyone who has more information please feel free to overrule me...
Basically, no matter what aspect ratio you're looking at (widescreen or full frame) when you're comparing NTSC vs PAL, NTSC will always look more widescreened (or shorter) (explanation: assuming that the horizontal pixels are the same, NTSC will always have fewer pixels vertically)
Check out this for a more detailed (and probably less confusing explanation)
As far as I know, there's isn't a whole lot you can do, but from what I hear, you are lucky the NTSC game works on your PAL tv. Some peeps are getting the dreaded "black screen on death" (game shows up in the Channel, but only a black screen after that.
I think it depends on the game. I have NTSC RE4 and NTSC wii and I do not get full screen. Most of my games are like that too. The only games that I get full screen on are the Nintendo made ones.
