xplorer360 image backup

I have a few questions about xplorer360. When I do a backup image, it ends up being a 10gb file, which must be the whole hdd. So does this backup all of the partitions, or just the one I have selected?

I also did a backup of my ms dash before I messed up on the softmod, so where do I put my backup of ms dash to fix my error 13?
