I have a black cable box, and I lost the remote for it. There is no way for me to raise the volume of the cable box, because there is no button o nit that allows you to raise the volume. I have a universal remote connected to it, but all it does is change the channels. It does not raise the volume.

I recently connected it to my HDTV, into the analog slot of the TV. (My cable box is analog.) The problem is, when I am viewing programs, the volume of the box is so low, that I am forced to raise the volume of the TV really really high just to hear the audio. This works just fine, I can now listen to the TV show, but the damn TV now starts making a loud BEEEEEPING noise. This is assoicated with the TV volume being raised too high, but I have no choice. If I don't,I can't hear the TV.

Why is the TV making this beeeeeeeeeeeping noise, how do I get rid of it, and is it because the cable box volume is too low?

Someone please help me out here.
