I know the Wii is region locked, but i was wondering...

Would a Wii from Europe play Wii games from Australia? I only ask because Xbox from europe could play Australian xbox games as they were the same region, for games atleast.

So it makes me wonder if the Wii is the same? Also Does the Australian Wii say their firmware is Europe, or is there a seperate Australian firmware for them?

Yeah i know both regions are PAL and i know they "should" be ok :-p But im asking if anyone knows, as in for a fact, that they will play eachothers games.

I just don't want to be stuck with a Wii baught from England and English games when i move back to Australia shortly, if i cant continue to use the system with originals baught back in Australia. I'd rather sell it all and buy a new system again.

There are only 3 regions for the Wii

U = North America NTSC(U)
J = Japanese NTSC(J)
E = Europe PAL

So your answer is all PAL units are region compatible with all PAL games.
