Let's see if someone can help. Lately, whenever I go into the Everybody Votes channel all I have are old questions and when I look at the time remaining it gives me some insane number like "250 days left". I think I should note that I've had the wiikey installed recently.
I've tried
deleting it and re-downloading
copying to the sd card and
checking the date was correct (i also tried putting it a year in advanced to see if it would 'trick' it in some way)

I'd hate to format the Wii's memory just for that channel... any suggestions?

Format the Wii or live with the channel being that way.

More then likley WiiConntect24 was not turned off during the install and this is an effect it has when WiiConnect24 is left on while the battery is removed from the Wii.

The below link gives steps that should fix this issue...

You're absolutely correct, it wasn't turned off during the install. Wierd thing is though, every other channel works fine. I'm still getting weather and news updates, I browse the internet perfectly fine, it's just that one silly channel. If this is the only solution I may just live with it being that way, I won't miss it too much.

Leaving WiiConnect24 on can effect the Wii in many ways. Sometimes it doesn't effect anyone at all. Sometimes some channels are ok and some are not. Its just an effect that comes with keeping the WiiConnect24 on when installing a Modchip.

It looks as if you have traveled back in time somehow.

Ok, I fixed it and didn't have to do such a long tedious method. Plus I had the benefit of keeping all my mail and all my miis. I'm posting the solution here just in case anyone else runs into this error and wants a simpler solution, the only con is you lose your voting data.

1. Open up the voting channel.

2. Click the settings button on top (wrench).

3. Erase all data.

4. Go into the wii data management and delete the voting channel.

5. Go into the shop channel and re-download.

All done =) Thanks again everyone for all your help.
