Hi guys have been reading your forum for a while now. Getting hints and tips. Now over a month ago installed the wiikey. So wiikey has been working great for over a month.
Just last night was playing mario strikers charged football (backup version) and the key was working perfectly. Today I then try a new game "Driver Parallel Lines" PAL verison and it didnt even get loaded onto the menu. So I thought i must of backed it up wrong, but having backed up over 30 odd games and they all worked perfectly thought it was a bit strange.
Anyway tried some other backup games, nope nothing and then i thought i would try an orginal, yep that worked. Went to my settings and thought i would see what version i was on, now last time i looked it was the 2.1E, this time it was 2.2E.
Now what I'm asking is?
Is it the wiikey, (but it was working perfectly last night for over a month with no problems, working with over 30 backup games)
Now has the wii updated to 2.2E made the wii key not work?
Or is it the "Driver Parallel Lines" game that i tried today (didnt even come up on the menu"
I can't even get the wii setup disc to work either.
Help!!!! :)

wilsonl: did you try parallel lines at around the same time your key "stopped working" also?
I don't see why Driver would have contained a system update, are you sure it was this game that changed your system from 2.1E to 2.2E?

I had a wire come off once, and it caused all my backups to stop working. I just re-soldered it. Maybe check your connections

Well i didnt think that either, just trying to explore every avenue. Surely it should still work with an update as long as its the same region???

Well mr500 said he got the issue after playing the game Driver:Parallel Lines, since you thought you had the same issue, I was curious to know if you had also played that game just before the wii started acting up.
If you payed someone else to do it, I would suggest getting them to double check their connections, because more likely than not one has fallen loose to cause you issues.

no. the last game that i play before my wii started to act up was super paper mario but i did try to play heat seeker ((backup) but it was not able to load)). after heat seeker failed to load my trouble stated. so i am not sure if its heat seeker or super paper mario. but i will try to find the perosn that installed the wiikey to check. i also try to run my wiikey boot disc but no luck in loading it.

As far as I know, or anyone else on this forum, no single game has been able to "kill" the WiiKey. More likely than not you have had a solder point come loose, OR your dvd media is one that your wii doesn't really like. I would try, before having that thing opened again, burning the WiiKey setup disk to quality DVD-R media, and trying to boot it.
Best of Luck

I had the same problem tried some other backup games and orginal nothing work, the Wii tries to spin the disk but won't load then I got an error:
"An error has occured. Press the eject button and remove the disk, then turn the wii console off and refer to the operations manual for help troubleshooting"
I open Wii then I insert the disk again the disk won't spin  Do you think my DVD drive been bad?

its this not a problem disc to begin with with its brick features?
I've read a few other forums warning of this game, but the wierd thing is you said you have the wii frimware at 2.2U and it shouldnt brick or have the problems you have
I'll try anything once...twice if i like it!

When you finished putting in your wiikey... did you put electrical tape over it?
