I would be grateful if people could post here the areas where Eurovox works. These are the ones I know for definite:
NTL and Chorus cable in Dublin.
Leixlip cable.
NTL cable and MMDS in Galway.
Chorus cable in Cork.
NTL cable in Waterford.
The symbol rate for NTL is 6887,Chorus cable is 6875.Eurovox will not work on Chorus MMDS.
Anyone tried a Eurovox in places like Limerick,Athlone etc.

Forget about trying it on chorus MMDS.It will not work,it works however on NTL MMDS.
For chorus cable do a power scan with symbol rate 6875(6887 is the symbol rate for NTL)
Let us know how you get on.

Chorus cable like NTL cable carries the analogue signals but the digital signals are also in the cablw which the TV cannot unscramble unless there is a decoder connected to it eg a eurovox.Any luck getting it working?

No not yet but I will try with the symbol rate you gave me later on. I cant see how it wont work as I get sly sp*rts 1 , 2, and 3 with my old jerrold box but the movies went on that a while back so thats why I bought the eurovox. I'll keep you posted.

There are some analogue only cable networks left over.
You have to check by yourself if digital is offered via your cable feed in your street.

Ntl mmds is using dvb-c and chorus mmds dvb-t.
True cable is also using dvb-c.
You need a box with dvb-t tuner for chorus mmds.

Hi,

I'm living about 15 miles on the KK side of Carlow. Could someone please tell me what type of box they recommend for this area?
I currently have a cable feed coming in from outside the house connected to Chorus box which in turn is obviously connected to TV.

I tried it with Eurovox before but didn't work, could be i was doing it wrong though.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

well Lad08

Not sure exactly which area your in but I am assuming that you are on analogue cable. 17 channels plus a box for getting in Sly sports 1-3 and Movies 1-3. my reason for this taught is because I far as I am aware for the moment Carlow Town has only been upgraded to Digital with Tullow, Bagnelstown and the like to follow in the future..

Hi,

Thanks for the quick response. What we have is a Chorus digital box with quite a basic package. All the usual channels plus setanta pack. Looking to get Sky Sports, Sky Movies, etc without having to change/upgrade subscription with Chorus.

We're in the Leighlinbridge area.

Would it be worth my while getting a starview box?

Thanks in advance

Know it well Related to half the village!!

Didnt know Chors was out there.
Tell me this, Do you have a direct line in from a 4 point external hub or have you got a square mesh receiver/dish on your rooftop??
i.e. terrestrial reception from a mast? I think there is one located in Borris so if so it would probably be pointing that direction...

let me know and I can advise then.

Thats your problem, The EV Max V won't work on MMDS.
you need to get your hands on a EV Max TX instead. Or Star view as you said but most opinion's seem to be that the EV is a better unit.
