cannot burn DVDs with nero

i just updated to Nero 7 Ultra Edition and now i cannot burn any DVD media. I've tried multiple brands of discs and they all present with similar problems

they are horrible discs, I recommend Verbatim or Sony (made in Japan)

thanks everyone so far for the help
i find it slightly weird that it shows i have roxio on the computer as to my knowledge I've never had roxio installed on my computer.
I was able to successfully copy from an iso image using DVD Decrypter earlier thus forgoing Nero so perhaps those 'roxio' drivers were interfering.
I have taken your advice and run that roxio zap program
I will try again with some TY media I have here and see if i can get Nero to burn.
