Well, I just burned a Wii ISO using both ImgBurn as well as trying it with Nero. Everytime that it finishes downloading, once I put in the DVD in the drive, it says this when I try and open it:

Disk is not formatted:
Windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatible with Windows.

I'm not new to the modding scene, and I tried putting in a burned PS2 disk, and I can open up the disk perfectly and it has all of the different files.

After I burn for the Wii, I can't open the DVD when I insert it into my drive, and it gives me that error message.

I have TDK DVD-R disks, so those are really high quality. I set it to a low burning speed, no background tasks, etc., and it just keeps giving me that message. When I put in one of my PS2 burnt disks, it opens up perfectly and shows me all the files that were in the ISO.

The ISO is not the problem either because I tried with about 4 different ones, and still no luck at all.

Can anybody help me out with this?

Any help at all is greatly appreciated.

My only guess is that you might need to buy another DVD drive. Your DVD driver properly just can't support Wii disks. Again, thats just my guess.

I think that might be normal depending on the burner...

real question: does it work in your Wii?

I JUST bought a burner yesterday to make my Wii SING backups.

It still sees a Wii backup as a blank CD... (CD, yes, CD)

Hmm... I'm not sure if it can't support Wii disks because I am not making a backup, it is just that I'm burning an ISO to a TDK DVD-R, and it burns perfectly, but it just won't open up when I insert it into my drive.

Again, I doubt my DVD drive is the problem because I tested it out with my PS2 burnt disks, and they all open up perfectly.

Could it be that I'm using TDK disks, and TDK is foreign? My PS2 disks are not TDK, but Memorex.

I also haven't tested it on the Wii yet because I am having the WiiKey installed by a pro... just burning the games now.

Any other help would be great!

Either you will get the error message that your getting or get a blank window when opening up a Wii game disc or backup in Windows. This is normal for Wii Game Disc since they are not compatible with Windows.

You will need to wait till you get the Wii Modded to find out if they work properly or not.

I would hold off on burning anymore Games until you can test the backup first. Wii Systems can be very picky at the media it will accept. It would be a shame burning all those backups just to find out your Wii will not accept the media you are using.

Before you ask what media to use I can't and no one else can tell you that. You will have to figure that out on your own. It could very well read and be perfectly fine with your TDK media but as I said I would wait and make sure before burning anymore backups.
