mp4 playback and WMP library

I read the article How to play MP4 files [url=http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/how_to_play_mp4_files.cfm][/url] and I installed Haali Media Splitter and the FFDShow codec which allow my wmp to play mp4 files perfectly, but it will not add my mp4 files to my library. I have it selected on wmp to add everything i play on it to the libray, but it will not add the mp4 files I play. Anyone know how I can do that?
