I found a thread confirming a usb hard drive can be used on xbox

I have a 100 GB SimpleTech usb hd, can i use this and have unleashX format it like the thread says? also, how can i hook up usb adapters? can i splice a controller cord, and a usb line, and link the wires together? (and leave the yellow wire free? (i think iread thats possible somewhere.

I can not really tell you which drives work when it comes to USB though.

that may help. I have only used internal drives as USB drives are just too slow.
