We bought a 40" Samsung LCD 1080p picture is awesome. Right now we have our apex dvd/vhs player running to the tv through components and to the home stereo. I have an S video and a set of RCA's adapted to my laptop to run through the TV. Picture looks good, but I think it could be better.

I am going to hook the desktop to the TV via cable, but what cable? right now my laptop and the desktop both only support 1280x1024, but the tv as you know will go 1920x1080. Should I usa SVGA, OR DVI? My question is should I split my pc into 2 cables(1 for desk monitor, and one for tv?) or should I get a new vid card and ditch this onboard thing, should get vid card with dvi or HDMI? If so which one is a good compromise of cost and quality? I will be surfing the web through the TV, and watching movies from the computer.

I need some input a home theatre system as well( qualty and cost is an option so no $2000 systems) something less than 499. dvd has to have 1080p and a tuner with sub.

thanks for the input guys.

Ron
