I recently bought a sound card (x-fi extreme audio). The sound on my computer is scratchy and skips. Even windows sounds are awfull.

I have downloaded the latest drivers and disabled the onboard sound on the mobo.

I also re-formatted and checked my ram. I have played with the harware acceleration levels also. I am running an ASUS p4s8x-mx mobo
Any suggestions?
