can someone tell me witch is the best codec for watching avi, mkv, ogm,rm and etc. in vista

You could try http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/...c-Package.shtml

Can't recomend it as I don't use Vista, but if it works you could let us know and it may help others.

yeh there are many vista codec, hardware, driver problems at the moment, im waiting for a while till i install it.
