Everything went fine as slave, and when we switched it over to master it seemed to break.
So we hooked everything back up the way it used to be and now the sound is gone.
The speakers make a hum when I unplug and plug them back in, but there is no sound at all. My computer tells me the devices are working properly and I have restarted the computer multiple times.
1. I tried to plug in headphones to the computer instead of the speakers, I could hear nothing through the headphones while I played music files on Windows Media Player.
2. There are no conflicts listed anywhere in the Sound, video and game controllers category in the device manager.
3. I can't place a volume icon in the taskbar, I get this error message "Windows cannot display the volume control on the taskbar because the Volume Control program has not been installed. To install it, use Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel".
If I can't watch anime on it, my computer is almost worthless to me.
Any1 have any ideas as to how to get my sound back?
Because I thought since the other thread was titled for HDDs that some sound wizards might not check that, so I made a new topic so the sound wizards will check this.
I am very desparate to try to get my sound back. I have been trying all the info guides I can find on google, but my computer keeps telling me everything is fine.
The only problems I seem to have is that I can't place a sound volume icon in the taskbar and when I plugged headphones into the computer, I still had no sound.
I went to system information and found my sound card. The name of my sound card (Creative EMU10K1 Audio Processor (WDM)) isn't listed in my device manager anywhere. It says the driver on it is 2005.
How would I reinstall the drivers for the sound card? I don't think I have the CD the speakers came with anymore.
