I have recently purchased a dvd burner with Lightscribe and today(rather blindly!) i ordered 25 printable Infiniti 8.5 dvdr. Are these for ink printing or do they do Lightscribe as well. When you buy Printable media is it designed with all types of printing in mind or do i need to get specific disks designed just for Lightscribe.
Cheers.
P.s. Sorry if this is the wrong area but i could'nt find anything for Disc Printing, sorry!

Got a link for those exact infiniti discs?

They're either Inkjet or Thermal printables. You can still write on them with a sharpie, if you can't take them back for replacement.

For Lightscribe drives and the use of that feature, you have to have blank Lightscribe media. I only use Verbatim LS media.

I believe they don't make DL lightscribe media yet,in case DL is what you desire.

Rima.com and Supermediastore.com are a couple other sites for LS media and prices will vary between all 3.

If you got fooled by the White discs, wait till you get into the format of plus, dash formats, size of hubs, and there's shiny thermal/inkjet printable as well.

Inkjet printable: These are inserted into certain printers that print directly on the disc. They can be white and shiny.

Thermal Printable: These are run through a thermal printer. They can be white or silver.

White: There's inkjet, thermal, glossy, matte, full hub and regular hub.

Full hub: Prints up to the center hole-also called the hub.More printable surface.

Regular hub: Prints further away from the hub, which is what the LS media is. Smaller printable surface.

There's a lot of different types of dvd media out there,be cautious when buying it. The different types of media are confusing, then there's the plus/dash format, and media quality. Make sure it's quality stuff like Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden. There's even fake media out there!

Here's a pic of some of my covers, but no thermals:
