Just a little word of caution, don't ever purchase any ATIVA DVD+Rs from Office Depot.

I have 4 DVD burners and have used all kinds of Blank DVDs over the last couple years. Office Depot had these on sale, they work one out every 6 or 7 blanks. They are useless, and a complete waste of time and money.

I have written to Office Depot and now I am letting you know they are useless except to hang from your cars rear view mirror or for clay pigeons.

Good luck,

I've been away for a couple months and about 45 min drive to OD.

Are those Ativa's the replacement for the Office Depot brand name or just another brand name they sell?

I noticed they're on sale tomorrow.

What's the MID code on them?

Office depot has a good return policy,so you may be able to take them back.

Ativa is an additional house brand of media, in addition to the regular OD brand. They are CMC MAG AM3 (-R) and CMC MAG M01 (+R).

OK, I'll sit back and watch everyone do their usual CMC bashing.

First of all, kegsh01 did not mention which drives he used, what firmware was in them, and what speed was used. (If they were all the same model, for example, and one was incompatible--they would all be incompatible. More information is needed.)

Secondly, it is also possible that this was a special buy from CMC because they were grade-B discs. Some factories actually sell grade B discs because the retailers insist on an impossibly low price and the factory gives in. The thinking is that the consumer will do the sorting, not the factory. (This second case is possible only if the drives/firmware were compatible with the MID codes. If they are not, then one cannot determine the quality of the recorded discs at all.) There is simply insufficient information to draw a clear conclusion in this case.

I did not do a very good job of providing all the necessary information concerning our problem with Office Depot DVDs. We don't have any left to get that kind of information. I am sorry and maybe you just have to try them for yourself.

I am sorry for any confusion I have caused everyone.

Good luck,

saugmon - Like Negritude said - It's not a replacement for Officedepot Brand media just an additional brand ! and I don't think they sell it any cheaper than their OD Brand or Other Name brands so Personally I would say El Paso !!!!!!!on ativa - & Yes to OD as long as Ricojpn & Ritek keep Oeming for them ! Yeah I know That they're not verbs Or Taiyo Yudens But Still Decent Media !I will Buy sony's or Verbatims at OfficeDepot to if Onsale ? I guess Ativa is just a way for OD to make More profit margin But Not on us Right !!!!!!!!!!!!
