Hi all, i have epsxe and psx v1.11 emulator, i have the newest ones btw and patched and all up to date. I wanna play FF8 on my PC, i have the original discs. I made a .bin file using Ultra ISO (registered version) and tried to play it on the emulators, both of them don't work. I get the logo Playstation but i can't get to the screen that shows New Game and Continue, it just shows a black screen after the Playstation logo fades.

I know how do burn and make ISO files properly so plz don't lecture me on that. I've tried using Nero 7 to make ISO file, and then convert to .bin file but it doesn't work. I tried using Ultra ISO to make ISO file as well and then convert it but it doesn't work either.

My emulators work fine, i tested FF9 on both of them and nothing went wrong. However, i downloaded FF9 from the net so i didnt burn or make the file. Plz tell me wat i'm doing wrong and don't tell me how to burn files plz.

Sometimes you have to configure the video plugins differently in order to get a particular game to work on a particular version of ePSXe. For example, Chrono Cross runs perfectly on ePSXe 1.5.2. but doesn't run at all under the same settings under ePSXe 1.6.0.. Try different settings or even different versions if you have to to get specific games to work.

yup i did that already, it doesn't work. I got a suggestion from another forum that i should use ISO Buster, i tried it and doesn't work and trust me i got the registered version and followed the guide properly as they posted.

I don't wanna play the game straight from the disc, it loads faster if i just use ISO files and plus i don't like my CD being read so many times, it's not like i'm gonna scratch it but i just don't like using it.

You could try using Alcohol 120% and see how that goes.

i don't think that's gonna make a difference, i think it's something else. I already used Nero 7 to make ISO file, used ISO Buster, Ultra ISO, DVD Decrpter and all of them are either full or registered version in case u might say that they're trials and don't work or something. Using another program isn't really gonna change things, i know how to make ISO files properly and i did that for a lot of discs, i made tons of ISO files to play it on my modded PS2, i've made ISO files for the modded operating systems i've downloaded and i've done that for years now. The problem obviously isn't the ISO file but something with my emulator, but it plays FF9 perfectly, plz give me a different solution i'm tired of using different programs to make ISO files.

I have FF8 and I played it on both psx 1.11 and epsxe 1.5.2. All the disc were ripped with Clone CD and worked flawlessly. You probably did a bad rip. Some games that I rip with Clone CD wouldn't work but will work if ripped with Nero, and vice versa.

no, i did burn it correctly and i know how to do that. It works for other games i burned and i have a good DVD writer as well, i burned it at the lowest speed possible and i used several programs as mentioned already. I let my friends burn it as well and still doesn't work. The disc works fine on my PS1 and PS2, not a single scratch.
