I was wondering if you really need a mod chip for the GameCube to be able to play copies ripped using Rawdump and burned. If so, why can't the dump image include the standard bootup? Or does it?
*correct me If I'm wrong* but, I think the console's dvd/game drive looks for bad sectors hidden in the game, and when the disk is read and copied to a harddrive the bad secors are removed. the modchip allows the dvd drive in the console to play games w/o these sectors
bump bump bump - not really a great way of adding importance to your post. why not thank the poster for his answer and add a further question to his answer.
maybe the reason you are NOT getting any answers is that you obviously didnt read the section header at the top which states nintendo WII not gamecube - try posting it in the right place
oh and the way the disc is written at manufacture is not re-creatable using home based writers so when rawdump dumps the image its in a way that writers CAN burn the image, but the gamecube can detect this as can the wii hence the need for the modchip

Don't scold me! The poster did not provide an answer. Instead he asked another question. Thanks for your response though, but you don't really deserve any thanks after being quite rude. The WII burning guide also says it will work with GameCube, so maybe you need to re-read it? The forum for GameCube doesn't use rawdump in their guide, so I posted here. Get over yourself.

Please clarify this for me.

think this is asking about gamecube - IN THE Nintendo WII section -
u was corrected that it wasnt a missing standard bootup in the dump as the wii actually looks at how the disc has been created, if not as per the original then it knows its a backup and refuses to boot. NO dump can recreate this
and the tripe u put at the bottom... well u asked about a modchip about .. wait for it.... for the GAMECUBE so like i said before POST IT IN THE RIGHT SECTION - ie nintendo gamecube not WII
hope this was quite polite enough for you -- my bad!
