Okay, I think I already know the answer to this. But do I need those specific LG dvd writers to use rawdump and make an image of the backups that I have already burnt?

if u read the sticky and all the posts after - u wud know......

u only need the lg dvd ROM to dump the image

after that ANY burner will burn the image but preferably a decent one like a pioneer

copying a copy - basically just use img burn to read the disc and then burn it any drive will do this

Ah you misunderstand what I'm asking. I know you need a LG dvd to dump the image. But what I'm asking is that after you burn the image. Are you able to use another (not LG) dvd writer to dump the image from the backup and not the original.

You have answered it anyway :) So only LG ones can read the original wii disc. Other dvd writers can also dump images from backup.

no i understood exactly what u were asking......

i added the rest as it was all relevant, but all this was available using search, in fact the exact question u asked, i created a post detailing this about a week after i joined the site so i do know the answer is out there :)

ah okay :) but if you do a search you will find most of the people is asking how do you burn a wii iso. It's filled with repeated questions therefore making it difficult to find what I wanted. So in the future hopefully when they search they can find this post :)
