problems with multiplayer SNES on wii

Multiplayer does not work. i have snes9x 1.43 GX 0.5 Can I fix this so that 2-4 controllers will be recognized?

Also, is it correct that SDload only loads from the memory card slot and that nothing can load media/games from the Wii sd card slot
If these are dumb questions I apologize
Also I did a forum search couldn't find anything
