Hello,

I tried to install my wiikey today, but when I opened my Wii I found something really weird: the chip close to the installation place has three missing terminals!

Does anyone have ever seen such thing? Can I still use my wiikey following the supplied wiring diagram or do I need to find another way to install it?

By the way, doing the normal installation with the wiring shown on the wiikey website I couldn't get any results. My original games work fine, but the burned ones (including the wiikey configuration disk) doesn't work...

Thanks for your help guys!

well first off, check to see what your chip type is. it should say on there whether it is a d2b chip set or a d2c. if you have a d2b you can still install it. if you have a d2c chip set, you are out of luck because no mod chip works with those chip set yet.

if you have a d2b chip set and those legs are cut off, then what you have to do is to grind on your chip until you can reach those three pins that is cut off.

there is a guide that tells you how to do it, it says use a dreamal, but i just used a very sharp knife and just grinded it until it showed. either way its up to you. if you need any more help feel free to ask! ^_^ good luck and take your time.

oh yeah i just installed mine yesterday and everything went fine.

Hi there!

Thanks for your help! I had really to use a small grinder (a Dremel actually) to grind the chip (mine is a D2B) and have access to the terminals.

The process is really dangerous and I was really scared while I was grinding thechip, but it worked out after some hours and now my Wiikey is working great!

I don't know, but this is really a nasty installation. After reading many topics saying that the Wiikey is easy to install I thought I could have installed in 5 minutes, but it turned out in a nightmare and, although I'm not a pro, this was for sure the worse electronic installation I've ever done for sure.

Well, thanks again for your help and I hope people can install their Wiikeys in this weird chipset chip!

See you!
