i'm new to making audio files on my computer. i'm trying to convert old casette tapes into cd's using audacity & nero. i have no problem making the files, but when putting them on cd's to sound is so low. does anyone know how i can invrease the volume so that the sound is not so low when put to disc? any help or ideas would be appreaciated.

To begin with,when you record the track,adjust the "Input Level" so that the input level meter is up near the top of the meter without going all the way to zero db.Then after the track is recorded,if need be,you can play the track and watch the "Output level meter" to see if it is going up near the top of the scale without going all the way to zero db.If need be , you can turn up or down the level on the "Track Control Panel" with the + or - slider control.Here are two programs to adjust gain on .WAV and .MP3 files....
