Ok, i remember a few years back using one of the mainstream P2P programs and when you were downloading a file it showed the people you were downloading it from and you could also show other files those individuals had to share. For the life of me i can't remember which program or version it was but maybe someone around here might? I'm thinking it was either Bearshare or Ares, maybe Limewire.
Also was wondering if i figure it out and find that program again does anyone think that feature will still work? I thought that feature was very useful, a little invasive but useful nonetheless.
i personally dont use limewire but i was saying that it has that feature that he was looking for.i didnt suggest torrents to him cause they dont have that feature. anmd i didnt suggest dc++ cause i dont like using them they can be hard to use for newer users.
they did but i hate kazaa cause of all the crap that comes with it.like adware wise etc etc.but to the oroginal poster you might wana use a prog called frostwire its basically the same thing as limewire only free.heres a link why.

Sure it was winmx. You could find a file then browse the uploaders other files to see what else they had. Also you could chat with people even had a big thankyou for a very rare and old song (1950s) I uploaded
In essence you can do the same thing with BitTorrent and you DONT have to install crap on your comp to do so. Because lets say you are using demonoid for example, you download a file from lets say a user called Axxoman, you wonder what else he has, you just go to his torrents page, and it will show you everything he has uploaded, other sites will also tell you what he is currently leeching, and seeding if any at all.
While I agree that BT is the future of filesharing, I also want to reccommend Soulseek. It is pretty much old school file sharing. You can browse other peoples files, and get full albums, one song at a time. They have a lot of lesser known and unsigned bands too. Many of which take a PRO filesharing stance. Might be worth a look. I use it often.
