I would like to do a realty check here. I am starting a business that will install high end media centers with large hard drives (>1 TB). One of the services I am considering offering is to rip music CD and DVD libraries to the hard drive for my clients. In order to make this economically feasible I will need to be able rip the movies as quickly as possible. I want to keep a high resolution (maybe 720 X 480). I will be purchasing a dedicated high end machine expressly for the purpose of ripping the DVDs. What software should I use and how fast can I expect to be able to convert a CD to an avi file? I am assuming that the movies will average around 1.5 gig. Am I in the ball park, or am I living in la la land. Thanks in advance for the feedback.
