Hi,

I am a total newbee. I have read most of the material but I have a few questions.
1. To play games on my R4DS do I just need the nds game files ?

2. What is a sav file ? do I need to copy these files too for the coressponding nds game file or nds file is good enough.

3. How do I create sav file ?

Thanks

1. You'll also need a microSD card with the .nds files on it. :P

2. A .sav is the save file for the game. To copy a .sav from an original DS card you need a slot-2 card and a prog. called Rein.

3. The M3/R4 will prompt you with a pop-up window as to weather or not it should create a .sav when you play the game.

Thanks for responding.

If I don't have a slot 2 card I can still play DS games stored on sd card Using R4. I will just nor be able to save a game. SO when I start the game again It will start from the begining correct not where I left off.

Where can I buy the slot 2 card and downlaod rein.
Can I play GBA game using R4+microSD card.

Thanks

No, no, You need Rein to get a .sav from an original DS card, you can still make .sav's with ROMS in your R4.

To play GBA games you will need a slot-2 card, my favorite being the M3 Lite Perfect (Steer clear of Pro), or as an inexpensive alternative, the EZ-Flash 3-1, the only problem with the latter is that you have to repeatedly flash the .gba files each time you want to switch games... But it does have rumble. :P

Rein (If you still want it): http://dl.qj.net/Rein-r17-Nintendo-DS/pg/12/fid/9853/catid/220
