Hi.

I've been downloading BT files for a number of years now and have great success with them (thanks to all the amazing uppers!). I've figured out port-forwarding, some tweaking strategies, etc., but recently I've run into a small predicament. I'm moved apartments and am currently living on the top floor of a 3 story house. The high-speed, cable internet connection is located on the 2nd floor (the floor underneath me).

I have installed a wireless network card into my 2-year-old desktop PC, and that recieves a a "low" to "good" signal of 24 Mbps from the second floor. I DO NOT have a wireless router hooked up on my floor.

I have tried to download some BT files since arriving, and have done so succesfully at a farely slow speed. My status light however, stays yellow and never turns green (unlike in the past when it would do so almost upon forming the connection with peers). Also, some files won't download at all. I'm assuming, although don't know for sure, that some security settings on the computer on the 2nd floor (the source of the cable internet service for the house) are responsible for this.

SO, MY 2 QUESTIONS ARE THE FOLLOWING:

a) Is there any way to confiure BT so the status light does turn green?

b) If I have a cable cord in my 3rd floor apartment, is it possible to plug that into a wireless router (the proper way) and would it make a difference to my internet speeds/connection status?

ABSOLUTELY ANY HELP/SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE AWESOME!
