Hey guys,
I've softmodded my Xbox, and I have UnleashX as my dashboard. I want to upgrade my hard drive to a 200GB, but I'm having a hard time getting my eeprom. I tried using ConfigMagic, but it keeps telling me incorrect xbox version or something like that. Any ideas on how to fix it?
Anyone know of a way I can extract my eeprom without using ConfigMagic? Are there any other programs?
-Thanks

You should have backed it up when you softmodded your xbox,
Softmods create two eeproms. The correct eeprom is found in E:\UDATA\2xxxxxxxxxxxxx\00000000000000\Backup on the Xboxs HDD. Use FTP to acquire it.
My tutorials can explain everything!

Lol, I know. I checked out a few of your tutorials, and there very well made. Helped me a lot, but I used UnleashX and I don't know if it backed up my eeprom. I'm having a hard time locating it. I burned a Slayer disk, and I think I'll try that.
Thanks for the help thought. At least there is one person that knows what he's talking about.

You have to backup your eeprom or it won't let you continue the softmod! It'll be where I told you!
If you use Slayers, it will just create another backup. You'll still have to FTP to get it!

Hi Chunks.. The other place it goes is to E/backup/dashboard/eeprom. It is possible that to gain space somebody has deleted the backup folder to get more room on E:. Not a good plan, but it happens.

That location is not always the correct eeprom. The softmod creates two eeproms. A backup of the original (My Location) and then a virtual eeprom (Your Location). The virtual eeprom is the "Softmod". You can check the validity of the eeprom with 'LiveInfo'. The reall one will have your XBoxs serial number.
As for your recovery, I'm not sure if it will work with the Xbox file system.

Well I actually found that EvoX was included in UnleashX and that you could install it as an app. I installed it and used it to back up my eeprom. It backed up to e:\apps\evox\backup
Much thanks guys.

Hi,
I softmodded using the MechAssault exploit. My problem is I don't have this folder on my xbox: Quote: E:\UDATA\2xxxxxxxxxxxxx\00000000000000\Backup
I do have "E:\UDATA\00000000" but there is nothing in there.
I do have the "E:\BACKUPS\EEPROM\BACKUP" folder and included files, but that backup can't be read with LiveInfo.
I have XBMC as my dash, and I don't think there is an option in there to backup eeprom.
I've tried using ConfigMagic to backup the eeprom, but after indicating that the backup was performed, there are no files in the E drive folder. I've confirmed that "E" is the Output path in the configmagic.ini file.
I'm trying to install a larger hard drive and I can't get the new one to lock. I think it might be an eeprom issue as I'm using the one from E:\BACKUPS\EEPROM\BACKUP.
Any other troubleshooting tips on backing up the eeprom?

Use the eeprom backup on the Slayer disc. Give it a location!
