this is a hopefully helpful hint to anyone who is having sound problems with their computers. I recently bought a laptop with vista installed and didn't too much care for vista so i installed xp (successfully) After i finished installing all my favorite programs on the laptop i tried to watch a video online and had no sound. I thought that i had muted the volume but couldn't open volume control to change it because it said that their were no devices or windows wasn't properly configured . Anyway long story short when i installed xp the drivers for my audio vga port, modem, LAN, and WLAN weren't installed so problem solved!
