Hi, well I bought a new computer about 2 months ago and I didn't like the graphics card that came with the computer. The video card is a GeForce 6150SE and I hate the way it plays BF2142, Guildwars, and Counterstrike:Source. So I have decided to get the EVGA e-GeForce 8600 GT 256MB PCI-Express. But my friend has told me that I need a better power supply and I dont know a whole lot about computers so this is where I need help from anyone that knows something about this stuff. If anyone can help me find a good power supply that will last for a fair amount of time, it will be greatly appreciated. By the way I live in Canada so if you can find my prices in CDN dollars that woul help a lot.

this is a most excellent power supply. BTW i do not agree with your choice of graphics card. Just because it is a DX10 graphics card does not mean it's good. Unless you are buying a 8800series or a HD2900 series that for now stay away from the other "midrange" options.
The 8600,8400gt from Nvidia and the HD2600 from ATI are crappy for playing games. Stick with something like the X1900XT, X1800XT, 7900GT, X1950 Pro, or 7800GTX for that price. But once again this is only my suggestion and it is your money.

You guys realize that the 8400 GT is a mobile GPU right?

Thanks for the replies everyone. I think I will go with AXT suggestion and go with X1950 Pro and the Corsair 520W power supply. But I was just wondering is the 8600GT good for a games such as BF2142, Guildwars, Counterstrike:Source? I'm not a hardcore gamer so I was just looking for a video card that will be able to play these games. The main reason I want to get a video card is for Starcraft 2. But if the 8600GT is able to play these games then I should just stick with it. Like I said before I don't know a whole lot about computers, which is why I am asking the Pro's on this forum. Thanks for the help

For those three, the 8600GT will do, but for Starcraft 2 you'll want the X1950, hands down.

Ok, so in order to play Starcraft I'll need to get the X1950 to play smoothly?

I dont know how to edit post so sorry for making a new one. I was just doing some research and found that the 7600GT is better and faster than the 8600GT. I might as well just for the 7600GT since I'm not a hardcore gamer and just looking for a video card to play game smoothly.

Yep, but you'll have to upgrade again when Starcraft 2 comes out.
