when it was plugged in the back of my laptop i forgot it was plugged in and brought it over to my lap.....it didnt fall on the floor by makin a huge BANG but it gently tapped a lil bit on my table.....do i have to worry about it breaking now lol???? i know i am a bit too worried but i need it for my upcoming vacation:)...oh yeah BTW i bought this hard drive yesterday from best buy

If it still works now, it probably still will later. I had a hard drive in an external box fall about the height of a standing tower PC onto the floor on two occasions, and the drive still works a year after.

was it spinning when it did the bump? do a scandisk that does a surface scam to see if any damage to the drive.

That's something I never thought to do.
A drive will be in more danger of being damaged if it's on when it gets knocked.
