EDIT: reworded my question
I have 4 speakers and 2 subwoofers, but I only have one stereo channel in my laptop. What I want to do is downmix the audio's 5.1 dolby sound to 2 channel stereo, then upmix the existing 5.1 sorround info back to 5 .1 channels so i can map it to my speakers, (I know i need 5 speakers for 5.1 DD, so i plan on getting one more soon). Is there any way to do it? Or maybe im using the wrong terms, maybe matrix encoding preserves the 5.1 info. Any help appreciated, Tim :D
