I have 2 AT&T/Cingluar phones, a Nokia 6010 business plan (registers to Cingular) and a Razr V3 (Registers to AT&T) pay as you go plan.

The Razr is a new phone bought off ebay as an unlocked phone, it started giving me an insert SIM message after about 3 weeks. Sometimes reinstalling the SIM would fix it for a while (up to a day). I tried interchanging the SIMs and the Razr seem to work fine. The Nokia which has never missed a beat gave me the same SIM message. I thought at the time the pay as you go SIM was defective.

The AT&T/Cingluar says that it is handset issue due to the fact that they both are unlocked.

Interestingly interchanging the SIMs back to the original phones, the Nokia give me the same insert sim message. In other words, the Nokia will not work with any sime I have.
