Ok, I'm having issues
I upgraded my FW, my burner now is able to bitset
The Default Booktype is now DVD-ROM.
I have an already backed up DVD
DVD Decryptor say's it's booktype is DVD+RW
How do I create another DVD,that will read DVD-ROM when complete?

TIA

The manufacturer name, model number of the drive and the firmware currently being used would be a big help here. You can copy and paste all of the information given in the right window of DVD Decrypter after the burn for this information and post it in this thread.

I just finished formating the disk, to keep testing.

The FW says it allows bitsetting and I used WinBTypeV2.exe to set DVD-ROM however Nero 6.6 DriveSpeed indicates I can't bitset!

I have an LG burner that can be bitset yet DVD Decrypter says is still DVD+R.
However DVDInfo Pro, says it's DVD-ROM and I confirmed it with another program.

Where did you get the firmware from?

Try 2.F9 from here: http://tdb.rpc1.org/#MD16XDVD9

It contains the binaries and flasher. Why are you trying to booktype RW's?

What's the process

Assuming drive is bitset first and was capable: then

1. use DVD+R
2. Change the BOOKTYPE to DVD-ROM in burning SW ( I use Nero 6.6)
3. Burn ISO that was previously ripped (DVD Decryptor indicated disk was DVD+R)
4. Play DVD

Trying to use RW so I don't keep screwing up DVD+R's, till I get it right!

The original probably doesn't inlcude booktyping...I would choose rpc1. This is essentially an NEC drive and once the booktype with firmware is set it should stay that way, or in other words DVD-ROM will be the default for the drive.

Most people including myself booktype all their discs...I've never had a problem and it is usually the recommended format.
