My college has a firewall that blocks p2p programs from being able to connect to other computers. One of the guys on campus mentioned a program he had heard about that you could open, and then open your software IN that program. This allowed p2p programs or other programs that use similar connections like voice chat to be usable. Does anyone know what the program he's talking about is, or where to get it?
EDIT: I just wanna specify that i dont want a program to run a p2p connection. I'm trying to use the voice chat program Ventrilo, but because it uses a similar transfer to p2p programs, it's blocked by the firewall.

So you want a program that bypasses that firewall, so you can voice chat?
Why is it that your college has a firewall?
ANSWER.. Your there to STUDY!
Spend more time on what your supposed to, and less on what your not.
It's an unreal expectation that you want help, to circumvate your colleges PC defenses and that we should assist with same. It's my opinion that you look elsewhere.
Hmmm... lets see how much of my question that answered. 0% sounds about right. If there's anyone with a less naive response that actually answers my question, I'll be happy to listen.
To naive Onya: The firewall is in place to prevent p2p programs from eating bandwidth and keep viruses off the network. Don't assume I don't understand that the purpose of college is to get an education, but don't even try to step on a soapbox and tell me I should be unable to voice chat with friends because "Your there to study." (nice grammar too pal. I guess one of us didn't study enough in college.) It's not an unreal expectation to want help when you are seeking a solution either. If you don't wanna help, save your time and mine by not posting silly naive rants.
