hi all!

im not sure where to post this, but let me provide the problem and the software/hardware im using for advice-

intel 3.0g cpu
1gb ram
1tb space via nas

probably 30 or so dvd rippers

what im trying to do:
backup dvds to my pc and play them on my tv via my dlink dsm-510

so far ive done about 10 dvds with various options from xvid, divx, mpg1, mpg2, mpg4 (any option a new ripper can try), but the playback on the tv from the dsm-510 is choppy...

this goes through our router from about 50' away.

we have changed the dsm-510 with a replacement, changed the router, the ethernet cable, the port on the tv, even the computer where the dvds are written too as well as the drive they are copied too.

ive tried every option i can think of, but the video and audio are choppy...

would anyone have any idea what to try next? or any combination of hardware/software etc?

id like to keep the hardware we have now, but software is an option if needed.

please provide specific info as to how you have gotten yours to work if you have at all..

what we're trying to accomplish is to play our dvds from the computer without having to manually load them into the dvd...

thanks!

Deb~
