just bought a new lcd tv ,can't afford blueray or hd dvd yet but was thinking of just buying an upscalled dvd player with a hdmi lead,would the quality be any difference or am i just wasteing my money,the upscalled dvd is only £50
sure the quality might (might) be a bit better with more power dvd player, but what really matters is the quality of the tv, if its like 1080ihdtv and the dvd player is old and projects at 480 then ya its holding you back, you should be fine with a normal one, or spend 50 bucks a dvd player that does Pal and NTSC,
if you give me the brand and model of your tv and dvd player i'll tell if it'll make a difference
I have a Toshiba 32WLT66 LCD and a Panasonic DMREZ25EB upscaling DVD recorder.
I have only noticed a slight difference between upscalled image and scart when viewing something like a fully digitally animated kids film like Monster Ink, The Wild, etc.
I think the upscalling works best & of course in co-operation with a HDMI connection when it has some decent image to deal with in the first place.
Generally I could swith between scart & HDMI and not see the difference. I wish I had spent the money on a unit with a HDD instead.
