Hi, I tried burning Beatmania Best Hits to a CD-R and playing it. But something wierd happened. The first round the game worked fine no freezes or anything. But as soon as my first game was over the game froze and took about 5 minutes to go back to the menu. then when I tried to start a new game it would freeze permenatly. So I took out the disk and tried to play it again. the disk spun for about 10 seconds and they just stopped and the PS1 went back to its main menu. It didnt load at all. Funny thing is when I burned the game to another disk the same thing happened, it would work the first time I played it, then it would freeze the second time and stop working.

Does anyone know whats going on?

What brand of CD-R are you using? and what speed are they rated at?

What speed are you burning at?

Brand: Dynex CD-R
Burn Speed: 1x
Rated Speed: 52x

I just tried reburning another one and the same thing happened. Now I have about 5 coasters. :(

Did a quick forum search for Dynex, and came up with this...

Hmmm...not a good rap at all.
As far as burning at 1X speed, it's way too low. As a general rule, HALVE the rated speed of the media. Hopefully this will bring some joy, if not then buy quality media like Verbatim.

I tried burning at half the speed like you said but it still doesnt work. Ya know, I think im just going to buy the game. :)
