I have a really simple idea but just cannot seem to get it to work. I have a jpeg that I want as the background to my menu, and beneath this I want to have the episodes showing - this shows up fine. All I want to do is have a highlight that goes around each of the titles in the DVD so they are surrounded by a rounded rectangle when selected. The menu image is encoded fine at 1024*768 so it lies within the safe zone (I am using scenarist to create the DVD). When I try to add my subtitle track that contains the 4 highlight buttons I am unable to as it says that the image is too wide, yet when I change the size of my image it stretches it out so the buttons are no longer around the text. If I shrink my background image it goes outside of the safe areas so is cut down on the screen. How can I get this to work?

Does the menu image not have to conform to the DVD standard, either 720x480 for NTSC or 720 x576 for PAL?
