Ok, I am new at all this and have read post after post. Can someone just tell me the best programs to use that are the easiest and come out the best. I just want to make back up copys of my dvd's. I have windows vista on my computer. I used to use shrink on my old computer but the movies would freeze alot of the time in the middle so I'm sure I was doing something wrong. Please help.....

DvDShrink good tool to have still works a lot with AnyDvD
running behind it...its FREE........

AnyDvD/CloneDvD2 great combo if you don't mind spending the$$$$

there are a lot of free programs that work well also....

i have and use about all of the SLYSOFT products and have been
happy with spending the money, have only been let down once
or twice...

with all the programs out now you will succeed with one or
another...................

i also have the latest NERO 7, but it has a lot of problems in
my opinion, but i got it for a very cheap price, i couldn't
pass up............

AnyDvD/CloneDvD2 for the money in my opinion, is the best............

gday to all.....................

It does not matter what programs you use if you use "crap" media you will be disappointed in your results. ALWAYS use quality DVD blank media,i.e.,Verbs or TYs.

Use either DVD Shrink OR AnyDVD, not both. The problems you describe are almost certainly the result of using poor disc media.

@ Discmania

Found your post a little confusing - over 95% of my movies have been done with DVD Shrink with AnyDVD running in background without any problems.

Agree that the key to succesful burninig is the use of good quality media - Vertbatim is among the best.

I'm not criticising your way of doing things but many people always seem unsatisfied with using just DVD Shrink to do it all, when in fact you don't need any other application at all to rip, compress and burn a DVD to your own specification. I don't use anything else and have never had a problem. You are just wasting CPU and memory by keeping a third party program running in the background. Why do you need to have AnyDVD running at the same time?

You must not copy any movies or at least many that have been released in the past three years since DVDShrink is not able to decrypt most of the newer releases. Even if it works for decryption and ripping, DVDShrink can not, does not burn on its own.
