installing windows xp on new motherboard?

hi all. i got windows xp and i install it on my computer and it works great. bt last week i got a new motherboard and i was wanted to know if i can install the same window on my new motherboard.

That depends on whether it is OEM or retail version of windows, If it is an OEM version then in a nutshell no, OEM versions are tied to the motherboard it was originally installed on. On the otherhand, retail versions are transferable, this means it can be installed on another computer once the first one is decommissioned (out of use), but it cannot be installed on more than one machine at any time.

its a retail version. was read how to do it. is this right? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/824125 it doesnt sound to hard.

You could do it that way as you mentioned in the link, just remember to back up any important data first just in case anything does go wrong for any unforseen reasons during the process.
