I just moved to college and i activated my internet access to my laptop and xbox 360...xbox live signs in on the dashboard and i have downloaded trailers...when i go to sign into halo 2 on xbox live i just get the start troubleshooter message...i have a hdd and i DO NOT HAVE FAMILY SETTINGS ON...i have cleared my cache and everything...any suggestions would be helpful thanks

hmmm. Not sure about this one. Have you recently recieved a new dashboard update? That may be the cause.

no...it worked the day before i left and once i moved into the dorms it stopped...we had to sign up our box by mac address and send it to the IT guys...they emailed us and confirmed it was working...360 games play no problem on xbl just not halo 2...idk just frustrating...any help would be appreciated

well it is a backup of my copy...do you think that would have anything to do with it?....i know in the past on my home network some updates wouldn't instal correctly with backups...the more some guys and i have looked into it we think it might be the school's network that is at fault...which sucks, i was looking forward to huge system link games over the campus network...were still trying to get it to work though...any help would be apprectiated

I'm having this exact same problem, except I have the original CD. I googled the problem and other people said that it worked when they connected through a router. I have no clue why. That is what I'm going to do to try to fix this.
