Agreed, those are several times faster than the dire 8500GT.
Have you already ordered the components? If you have, there seems little point in asking us whether they're any good or not.
As for the motherboard, I think it's overkill if you're a light gamer.

I'm not trying to spend over $120 on a video card I can get the 8600GT for $115 and I might get that one when I get the maney I will get a better video card.

Then for now I'd jump it up to an 8600GT and plan for upgrades later. The 8500GT will piss you off majorly.
I enjoy the same Motherboard and if you're planning for major upgrades that'll be a winner. It's currently one of the best.
Your CPU will defenitely be fast enough at stock speeds. Would easily match my X2 4400+ @2.6GHz.
But you could have MUCH better RAM for the same price i.e. namebrand from a high-end manufacturer...

I currently use this in my Parent's computer and it kicks some serious ass.

You should probably go with a 7600 GT instead of a 8600 GT. Sam performance if not a little better on the 7600 GT and it's cheaper.

How much are you getting it for? I think the 7600 GT performs better also.

But you say you want it for gaming... and while you say that you aren't a hardcore gamer you'll be disappointed. The difference between high and medium quality is bigger that you think. So something more like the 8600 or 7600 will leave you in far better stead.

The 8500GT is a LOT slower than the 8600GT, moreso than the difference in cost would suggest. Why go with something unbearably slow and need to change it soon after?
