I currently use a Netgear Lynx L-210 DSL modem which I have no problem with on my windows xp desktop via Ethernet but it carries a poor wireless signal and my wireless windows vista laptop keeps disconnecting.

I have a Westell Versalink 327W modem/router that I would like to replace it with. I already set up the new modem with my internet provider's ip, subnet, gateway, primary dns, and secondary dns which made my laptop and my desktop both pick the Westell modem up and establish a connection (westell configuration page also shows that it is connected). But the connection is only a local LAN and I can't connect to the internet from either computer.

You guys have any tips on what else I need to do?
