i've been trying to download a torrent for several days now and it just isnt working. i've tried using Fast Torrent, uTorrent, and am now using Azureus. currently the i have a green happy face saying that everything is fine, i have 37(32) peers--whatever that means--and 0(0). when i started it, it downloaded incredibly fast but stopped at 0.7% and has NOT BUDGED since then. download speed is 0B/s and upload speed is the same.
im also using Azureus Ultra Accelerator to ensure the best connection possible. im guessing thats what keeps my happy face a green one. i am beginning to think that i will just not be able to download this thing.
The 37(32) under peers means that the tracker knows of 32 peers and you were able to connect to 37 because of DHT.
Is the 0(0) under the seeds column?
This would mean that there is no seed for this.
The numbers inside the parenthesis are those the tracker sees as available for the torrent.
The numbers outside the parenthesis are those you are connected to.
If you double-click the torrent, you will see availability on the general tab.
This is the total percentage of the file available from the people you are connected to.
If it is 1.0 or more, than a full copy is available.
If it is 0.7%, then that is why your downloads and uploads have stopped.
If you have been going for several days and there still is no seed, it is probably a dead torrent.
i see. well, availability seems locked at .357 and still 0(0) under the seeds column. i guess this means its a "dead" torrent like you said and its not going to download?
Sounds like you're out of luck :( If the availability is under 1.0, there is not a full copy to download. I would try searching for another torrent, or request seeders on whatever site that you're downloading from's forums.
BTW the Azureus ultra accelerator is not supported or recommended by Azureus.
And it appears, from reading some posts, that it does nothing to help.
As far as the torrent, the two suggestions of vette74 are correct.
(You could post in a comments section on the torrent also, if there is one at the site you found it or the tracker site)
