I am staring at 2 different media DVD+R right now.
1. Memorex DVD+R 16x
2. Dynex DVD+R 16x
On the DVD's they have the RW logo! And under the RW logo it says DVD+R. But they arent at all ReWriteable. What the hell is going on here? Am I missing something?
It is the same logo as on my real ReWritable FujiFilmDVD+RW.

...unless, of course, you're actually looking at a DVD-RW.
Many companies put RW on their discs.
These companies must be real stupid. Of course they can be READ, why would I burn a disc then? But why use the same RW logo as reWritable. It has that fancy looking R. Very misleading.
The official + logo from the DVD+RW Alliance is what you are seeing. The original intent of the Alliance was to provide a single, rewritable disc that could be used just like a floppy disc. The HP/Philips/Sony group broke from the DVD Forum when the Forum's answer to a rewritable disc free from the DVD-RAM cartridge was the sequential writing DVD-RW. The DVD-RW originally took 93 minutes to erase or format. Deleting files does not increase any capacity--new data are always appended to the last written section. The DVD+RW disc, on the other hand, could be formatted in under a minute, often in the background; and deleting a 500MB file opened up 500MB of capacity. However, there was market pressure for the DVD+RW camp to introduce a less expensive write-once disc, and the DVD+R followed (much to the chagrin of the original owners of HP, Ricoh, or Philips DVD+RW drives that could not be updated to write to the DVD+R disc.) The +R disc became far more popular than the +RW, but the logo stayed the same. It has caused confusion ever since, but less confusion than the 1-sided Type 2 and 2-sided Type 1 DVD-RAM discs.
