I'm currently running DD-WRT v24 beta (2007-0810) on my Linksys WRT54GL. I have WPA encryption and MAC Filtering enabled.

I have the following devices connected to the network via a wired connection:

Two (2) desktop computers running Windows XP
One (1) desktop computer running ClarkConnect OS, running as a file server

I have the following devices connected to the network via a wireless connection:

Notebook computer, Dell Inspiron E1705
Desktop computer with wireless NIC installed
SX66 (Pocket PC running Windows Mobile 2003 and Odyssey Client)
Dell Axim x51v
Nintendo Wii

The only wireless device I can not connect to the network is my Nintendo DS Lite. The NDS only supports WEP encryption.

I refuse to compromise the security of the network by downgrading from WPA to WEP. I also can't bring myself to pay Nintendo $40 for a USB Wi-fi Connector, which serves only to cover a deficiency in the DS firmware.

I have experimented with DD-WRT v24 beta firmware and was able to successfully create two separate Virtual Interfaces under the Wireless Basic tab.

The problem is that the two Virtual Interfaces provided entry to the same network. Even when I set a separate subnet for each network (192.168.1.x for the primary, 10.1.1.x for the secondary), I was able to access Windows file shares by IP address.

I want to accomplish the following:

1. Create two separate VLANs within the same WLAN.
2. Create two separate Virtual Interfaces.
3. Associate each Virtual Interface with a separate VLAN.

This will allow me to log on to the Nintendo WFC service without compromising the security of my existing network.

Is such a feat possible?

If so, is it possible with any additional hardware?

I should also mention that I have a few spare Proxim ORiNOCO cards lying around. They're old (read: ancient 802.11a cards), so I don't know of what use they'd be.
